Morlaix Lions 50th Anniversary
.Lions Club of Morlaix celebrates its Fifty Charter Anniversary. Lions Wally, Geoff and Bob along with their partners travelled over to our twinned club in France, to help them celebrate.
Driving Instructors walk for the animals
Driving instructors, representing “The Association of Professional Driving Instructors (south west), donated £478 to Woodside Animal Trust received by Debbie Haynes, with the help of some of the dogs, from driving instructors Andy Morrison, Chris Walker and Chris Weekes and Lions Brian French and John Curtin received a cheque for £478 for the charities of The Lions Club of Plymouth. Lion Brian French hastened comment “The Lions Club of Plymouth is not an animal charity although we do sometimes roar with pleasure at the generosity people like the driving instructors.” . Debbie Haynes from Woodside expressed her thanks to the driving instructors and said “Woodside is always pleased to be thought of by the driving instructors and grateful for their efforts.” She then added “The Animal Trust needs £10,000 a month just to pay the Vet’s bill. We are not just a cats and dogs sanctuary we have pigs, horses, sheep, goats and a whole array other small animals.”
The instructor’s raised the money by walking ten miles on Dartmoor sponsored walk organised by the Lions. The next Lions Sponsored Walk will take place on Sunday 15th July.
